| Dear Diary |
[Nov. 5th, 2006|04:44 pm] |
I have finally taken some time out and some serious counselling about why I ended up with another abuser.
I have learnt so much information about how to recognise the warning signs of an abuser to hopefully never to be with another one in my life.
Having been at the receiving end of physical abuse from a partner, it was so very difficult to realise and admit that I have just fallen foul of and come out of a verbal abusive relationship.
I am now with a wonderful man who treats me with respect and I am learning that I deserve such a person and respect.
His family has welcomed me with welcome arms, a far different arrangement to feeling like an unpaid taxi taking my ex to his parents, and then having to sit in the car sometimes for up to 20 minutes in the cold, wet and dark without being invited into their house.

| Thank you Guardian Angel |
[Oct. 1st, 2006|07:34 pm] |
For Simon. Thankyou for being there.
You know I cannot promise not to try again, but I have promised that I would call you and talk to you if I sink down that slope again. For that I am thankful and extremely grateful, and for restoring some faith in men - that they arent all arrogant, self-centred, abusive and cruel.
You are someone that puts others first, that listens, my Guardian Angel, thankyou. |

| Today is the day. |
[Sep. 11th, 2006|08:08 am] |
Today I leave behind a large three bed house and rural life and Shadow’s ashes to live in a small bedsit miles away from anyone I know.
I need to re-adjust my life to what is important and my safety is way up there.
So if YOU SICKO are reading my journal – feel free to burn down my house as it is nothing to do with me anymore.
Try and find my remaining two cats to torture and mutilate like you did to Shadow. You WILL come off worse and that is a promise.
I will NEVER forgive you for what you have done, nor forget.
Hard to believe that only three years ago I was living in my own five bedroomed detached house, no debt, three beautiful cats and planning a wedding and life was good. Now, thanks to circumstances, my only possessions that matter I can place in the back of a car, have £60K of debt (thanks Bob), two tormented traumatised cats (thanks SICKO), and life stinks.
Once again September 11th with me implanted firmly in my memory as a very sad day.
Maybe one day my tears will stop flowing. |

| I am moving. Leave me alone. |
[Sep. 6th, 2006|08:58 am] |
I hope I do not know you, nor that our paths ever cross, in this lifetime or the next. I WILL get you and I now will die trying to get you.
This post is to say that after waking up at 430am to go to work and finding Shadow (my cat) hanging by her collar on my front door with her head smashed in and a note saying "Suffer Bitch. Fuck off. You are next" on my door, that really is the last straw.
I AM MOVING. GOING AWAY. DONT CARE WHERE NOW. YOU WIN. NOW FUCK OFF AND LEAVE ME ALONE.
Life is shit. |

How much did I win?
£500? £1000? £2500?
Noooooooooooooooooooo
I won £40.
That does it - I am never playing it again! |

Coma woman mix-up pains US family
A US family has spent weeks caring for a comatose crash victim only to learn their daughter died in the crash and the survivor is someone else.
The family of Laura VanRyn realised a mistake had been made as the crash victim emerged from her coma.
Tests showed the woman in hospital was not their daughter but a college mate of hers, Whitney Cerak, who was in the same accident and resembled Ms VanRyn.
The Cerak family had buried Ms VanRyn's body, thinking it was their daughter.
The two women looked similar.
Both were students at Taylor University, Indiana, and were travelling together on 26 April when their vehicle was involved in a collision that left five people dead.
Ms VanRyn was among those killed. Ms Cerak was rescued alive from the crash and taken to hospital, where she was incorrectly identified as Ms VanRyn.
She had suffered facial swelling, cuts and bruises and fractures and her neck was held in a brace.

| Jubilant June |
[May. 31st, 2006|07:36 pm] |

Well, after going through a rocky patch with noir, everything is now great and I am pleased to report that we are now happier than ever and I am also really looking forward to moving house and living with D in the near future.
D and I have seen a place we like, and are now hoping to have all the paperwork and finances sorted out so that the place is definitely ours... then its the waiting game to get the keys! Why isnt anything in life simple?!
Life has been hectic too, a holiday in Spain with the gorgeous noir, job move, and moving house to contend with as well. Never rains but it pours I think the phrase is!
Sorry to my friends for withdrawing from the world, but I didnt want to post things on a daily basis through the many trials and tribulations of May, but now its onwards and definitely upwards towards June! |

| Victims of Crime Trust |
[May. 31st, 2006|06:35 pm] |
|
I'd like to make an appeal on behalf of a charity that desperately needs donations to keep up its crucial work.
I have come across the Victims of Crime Trust (VOCT - http://www.victimsofcrimetrust.com) in my ongoing search for a worthy charity that is able to accept some of my time in helping them out on a professional basis. Due to red-tape, there are immense problems these days in donating your time and skills to a charity instead of financial aid!
As I used to be a victim support counsellor, I am highly conscious of the fact that there are over 100 different support groups for criminals and offenders, the Victim Support and VOCT are two of the few registered charities that provide comprehensive and professional support for the victims of crime.

| Fun taxing cars ... |

| [ | mood |
| | annoyed | ] | FULL STORY
Garages conducting MoT tests have experienced difficulties because of a fault on a new computer network that was rolled out across the UK in March. Less than half the usual daily level of some 130,000 tests registered on the system on Wednesday, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency said.
They might be valid, but you cannot use them to get tax online, and the post offices are refusing them.
Who had an MOT this week? Yes quite.
How much did this system cost? £232 million - yes TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO MILLION!
How late is it officially? THREE YEARS late
And was it EDS? Nooooooooooo - not this time. This time it was Siemens Business Services (SBS)!
And who are SBS? They are the ones in charge of the system for electronic passport applications in 2002... and also linked to the national identity card scheme... |

[Apr. 19th, 2006|09:40 pm] |
The do-gooder Congratulations! You scored 43%! |
| You are about as happy as most of the people out there. Which is good. But you really should try harder. Remember, happiness is not somewhere you get to, happiness is the path you travel. If you choose the path your travels will be fun and happy. Don't drift, it is your life, take it by the nose ring and pull it to a new pasture. And then let it have sex with lots of cows. |

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 93% on happiness |

| A Pain in the Bum |
[Apr. 12th, 2006|06:40 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | restless | ] | I always knew I was a pain in the bum … but I didn’t literally want to have a pain in the bum!
I am really not looking forward to seeing my GP. My sciatica / piraformis problems have returned with a vengeance and simply will not give me relief or subside!
I am really not looking forward to clashing heads with a new GP in a few weeks time regarding my desire to stay well clear of surgery for it. For the most part the troublesome disc in my back causes nothing more than occasional sharp nerve pain to remind me it is there. It has been many years for such a severe attack and one that is not going away with normal anti-inflammatory drugs.
I hope he doesn’t look too closely and demand that I see an osteopath again. Last time I saw one I ended up in pain so severe that my lower back became locked in sideways bending position (scoliosis) and has been an issue or concern ever since. Maybe I should go and see Rod Dunn again in Cambridge? I haven’t seen the need before now (even after the car accident) but this is getting really unbearable now.
Due to what it is, I am also reluctant to numb the pain by my normal methods and have resorted to using conventional pain relief – tablets et al. Sorry stomach – I know you will forgive me for doing this in time! |

A night out on the tiles was just what the Lemming needed after a few days in a real down mood. The journey to Victoria was fine, no delays to the trains, and got there with plenty of time to have a proper sit down dinner in a Whetherspoon pub with the wonderful noir. The food was excellent and with a 2 meals for £7.50 I can recommend this pub inside Victoria Station wholeheartedly!
The Apollo was a great venue, and catching my breathe I managed to walk down the steps and sit two rows back from the edge of the circle… you know … only two rows back from the sheer drop down to the stalls … No mean feat for me let me assure you guys!
Fiona Apple came out onto stage 15 minutes later than scheduled and appearing very nervous, fidgety, unsure of herself.
What was I expecting? Well… having never heard Fiona Apple before the gig I was expecting to hear a gorgeous haunting voice (AKA Dar Williams / Sarah McClaughlan et al) and excellent musical skills on the piano - an exceptionally talented musician /songwriter.
What did I hear? A voice that took about three songs to work through the kinks from nerves, level of being warmed up, etc and an incredibly drowned out piano completely although overshadowed by the band at times.
If it wasn’t for the fact the Noir kindly took me to the gig, I would have walked out and gone home about 15 minutes into it. I really wasn’t expecting a damaged diva bristling with issues.
However, I am glad that I didn’t walk out! Whatever she did before coming out to do an encore I wished she had done at the beginning of the gig or during it! Her voice for the encore was spot on, and the annoying keyboard playing had ceased too. What did I hear now? A singing voice and half-decent piano playing. Why on earth was I subjected to 90 minutes of complete dross when she could perform after all?
Why did I go along? Why did I want to see her? Two reasons really. One was that noir was really keen to see her and I love hearing singers and talents that I havent heard or seen before (as my music collection would prove!), and two – she supported Coldplay so I wanted to see what was so special about her for Coldplay to pick her to open for them! Lol.
Oh well, I am left just not seeing what people see in Fiona. I don't really hate her stuff, but sure as hell fail to see the allure.

| Why oh Why can I not be ENGLISH?! |
[Apr. 8th, 2006|08:39 am] |
| [ | mood |
| | annoyed | ] | From The Mail on Sunday - 02/04/2006
SUPERMARKET giant Tesco has removed the cross of St George from labels on its English products.
However, foods from Wales, Scotland and Ireland will continue to boast their national colours...
A Tesco spokeswoman said: 'Traditionally, English produce has been labelled with a Union Jack - only a very small number of products would ever have carried a St George's flag. 'Customer research has shown us that, once customers know a product is British, if it is from England they are most interested in knowing the region where it was produced. 'This is what we are moving towards with our produce labelling.'
Doesnt this sort of thing make you mad?
It also makes me mad that we are not allowed a national day ... there is a petition online regarding this at http://www.stgeorgesday.com/voting.asp if anyone is interested in voting. |

Well, after the superb long weekend away in Gibraltar with the lovely noir I took him to Wembley Arena on Tuesday.
Who did we go and see I hear you cry?!
McFly?
Boyz 2 Men?
Girls Aloud?
Noooooooooooooooo
To see the legendry B B King play his last gig tour of the UK. Well, the man is 80 after all so he is forgiven!
And who was supporting this Legend? Gary Moore no less!
What a night!!
I am not sure about removing any I-Am-Home-From-Holiday blues ... but the evening of "blues" was superb!
Hopefully the noir enjoyed himself ... but I havent seen mention of it in his LJ yet ... nor any of the pictures he took .... hint hint ... Grins |

| | amused | ] | A driver is stuck in a traffic jam on the motorway. Nothing is moving.
Suddenly a man knocks on the window. The driver rolls down his window and asks, "What's going on?"
"Terrorists have kidnapped Tony Blair, John Prescott, Gordon Brown and Jack Straw. They're asking for a £10 million ransom. Otherwise they're going to douse them with petrol and set them on fire. We're going from car to car, taking up a collection."
The driver asks, "How much is everyone giving, on average?"
"About a gallon." |
